LDS Missionary Care Packages
Package weight - contact your post office or shipping company to find out the most inexpensive
way to mail packages. I've used US Postal Service with tracking service. Keep your boxes within the
weight guidelines. It's better to send small packages regularly than enormous ones. Remember
that your missionary has to haul your stuff around from area to area, or he will just give it away.

Package Tips - choose items that are practical, yet light. Send something for his companion also.
It's fun to send items that coordinate with major holidays like Valentines, Easter, 4th of July, Labor
Day, Halloween/Thanksgiving & Christmas. Keep a running list of items you send in your packages,
and put a checkmark by items your missionary really loved getting. Do not put foreign packages in
holiday decorated boxes because this makes them a likely target for theft. It's better to be
discreet. Take items out of original packages that add more weight. Let your missionary know
when you mailed the package, and when you estimate it's arrival.

Package Ideas - this is a list of practical items, some recommended from mission presidents.
